THE PRESIDENT HALTS THE FIVE THOUSAND NAIRA NOTE
President
Goodluck Jonathan has instructed the CBN governor to put a halt in implementing
the policy of the N5, 000.00 (Five thousand naira) which was set to be rolled
out before the independence. It would be recalled that it was coursing so much
controversy in the country when the big idea was conceived.
There
was so much criticisms from Nigerians from different works of life even states
men and former leaders like the former President Olusegun Obasenjo and former
head of state Yakubu Gowon; both gave their tombs facing down condemning the
policy as being anti progress for the country’s economy at this time.
On
Thursday, the house of reps and the senate passed a resolution calling for the
apex bank to halt the move.
What
is your opinion?
